Jews in the Wild: A Weekend Outdoor Adventure in the Blue Hills

EVENT:  This event, sponsored by Temple Shalom of Milton, Temple Beth David AND Mosaic is one to remember!  Come join about 120 of your favorite and soon-to-be friends for a weekend of camping, hiking, swimming, and all things Jewish!  Pack your tent and prepare yourself for ~48 hours of F-U-N!

The activity-based program includes

MEET: Visit website above for complete details on when/where to meet.  The camp-out itself will take place at the YMCA camp in the Blue Hills.
COST: The full weekend costs $80 per adult (age 15 and older) and $60 per child (age 14 and under).  Some activities require an additional fee (see website for more info).  Day-only participants pay per activity.
CANCELLATION POLICY:  You will be charged a cancellation fee of $36 if you cancel your reservation on or before July 5th, 3:00 PM.  $55.00 if you cancel on or before July 12th 3:00 PM.  No fees will be refunded after this day and time.  Please Note that Registration for Overnight Camping is Limited to 120 people.  Applications will only be considered “received” and a spot reserved when accompanied by full payment.  Applicants will be notified of their participation in Jews in the Wild 2013 by email.  If there are no spots available, applicant will be notified and put on a waiting list.  If no spaces become available, you will receive a full refund.

Metrowest Shabbat Retreat in Nature 2013

EVENTThe second Metrowest Shabbat Retreat in Nature takes place the weekend of August 16-18 at the Winnetaska Girl Scout Camp in Ashland. The retreat will be a weekend of Judaism outdoors in the woods and will include Kabbalat Shabbat beneath the sky, walks in the woods, meditation, music, arts & crafts, environmental education, activities for kids and adults, havdalah under the stars, and more. Throughout the weekend will also be activities to enhance our spiritual preparation for the Days of Awe. Camp Winnetaska is located beside Ashland State Park and the Ashland Reservoir. The retreat is open to all who live, work, or daven in the Metrowest area, and registration is possible for an afternoon, a day, or the whole weekend. Options for sleeping include outside under the stars, in your own tent, in a platform tent, in a lodge, or at home. Everyone, of every age and every background, is welcome. The Retreat is sponsored by the Nature Chaplaincy Program of Ma'yan Tikvah with support from the Metrowest Jewish Community Fund of Combined Jewish Philanthropies, Hineni community of Weston, Mosaic Jewish Outdoor Club, Congregation B'nai Shalom of Westborough, Kerem Shalom of Concord, Congregation Beth Elohim of Acton, and Temple Israel of Natick. Mosaic of MA Goes National

Mosaic Outdoor Clubs of America's annual Labor Day weekend event takes place in our backyard this year. Join Jewish outdoor enthusiasts from across the map for hiking, horseback riding, rock climbing, sightseeing, kayaking, visiting the White Mountains region and the Lakes region, and a variety of in-camp activities. Nightly programming will include mixers, dances, Shabbat under the stars, campfires, and more. The event takes place at Camp Yavneh in Northwood, NH. You can extend your weekend with an amazing pre-trip in the White Mountains of NH starting on August 27th, and/or with a post-trip at Nantasket Beach Resort and in Boston ending on September 4th.

Registration is now open! Register by the end of June, and make sure that your Mosaic of Massachusetts membership is up-to-date, to get the best rates. Visit the Meander in NH website (http://2013event.mosaicoutdoor.org/) for complete information and to register for this fun and exciting event!

Base prices, which include all meals and cabin bunkhouse accommodations, are $369 for members of Mosaic of Massachusetts and $415 for non-members through the end of June. After that, prices rise to $399M/$449NM through 7/22, then $469M/$499NM through 8/15. The pre-trip is $235 extra and the post-trip is $160 extra. If you are not interested in the entire post-trip, then we will have a way for local people to take part in the Tuesday activities. More information to follow.
